This hardenable material is characterizsed by its good dimensional stability and high strength. To achieve the potential of strength a heat treatment such as solution heat treatment and subsequently artificial ageing is recommended.
Aviation, mechanical engineering, tool making, jigs and fixtures, mould making, machine casing, reference plates, robotic arms, defence technology.
The alloy EN AW 5754 (here cast version – applies to flat material only) has a medium strength even in soft condition. The very good corrosion resistance, especially against seawater, should be emphasized. Furthermore, it is easily weldable and suitable for use at an elevated workpiece temperature.
